Currencies
Record a deal in another currency and keep totalling the pipeline in the base one.
Record a deal in Colombian pesos, dollars, euros or yuan.
How Wrap totals a mixed-currency pipeline
Total deals in four currencies without converting anything by hand. Each deal stores three things:
- Its value in the currency you chose.
- Its converted value in the workspace's base currency.
- The rate used, and the date it was taken for.
Wrap totals the converted value, never the original, so Open pipeline means something with deals in four currencies.
The rate is frozen
Wrap freezes the conversion the moment you save the value. A deal saved in March does not change value because the dollar moved today.
When you mark a deal won, Wrap recalculates the conversion at the closing day's rate, so what you won is worth what it was worth the day it closed.
Check the equivalent, the rate and the date on the deal record whenever you have to explain a figure.
Where the rates come from
Wrap uses the most recent rate at the moment you save the value. The whole suite shares those rates and refreshes them once a day.
If there is no new rate on a given day, Wrap uses the latest known one, so you always have a figure to work with.
If there is no rate for that pair, the deal stores the original value and no converted one, and totals exclude it rather than inventing a figure.
The base currency
Set the base currency in the workspace settings, inside Nest. Changing it does not rewrite what is saved: deals keep their original currency and conversion.
If you cannot see the base currency there, ask a workspace admin to change it for you.
