Pins, saved items and reminders

Never lose a message: pin it for the channel, save it for yourself, or have it brought back.

Pin a message for the whole channel, save it for yourself alone, or have it brought back to you at a time. All three keep hold of a message; what changes is who for, and until when.

You want Use Who sees it
The team to always see it Pin The whole channel
To come back to it when you can Save Only you
To be reminded at a time Remind me Only you

Pinning: for everyone

Pin a message to highlight it for the whole channel: the meeting link, the channel's rules, or the decision people need to remember.

In the feed, a pinned message shows who pinned it. Open Pinned messages, from the pin button in the channel header, to see them all together, jump to any of them or unpin it. The panel shows you the whole message, with its files and its links: the spreadsheet, the screenshot, the link to the board.

Pin only main-feed messages, not thread replies.

You need to be able to post in the channel to pin and to unpin. To open the panel and jump to a message, being able to read it is enough.

Pinning a channel is a different thing

Pin a channel or a DM and it moves up your sidebar, without changing anything for the rest of the team:

What you pin Who it is for
A message The whole channel. Anyone who can read it sees it
A channel or a DM Only you. It moves up your sidebar and nobody else's

They share a name and nothing else.

Saving: for you

Save a message from Save, in the bar that appears over each message. Swarm sends it to your saved items, where nobody else sees it.

Open Saved in the sidebar, under Directory. There you have the message, its author, where it was and when you saved it. Search, filter for channels or direct messages, and sort by when you saved it or when it was posted.

It is your "I need this later" list.

Remind me: for you, with a time

Schedule a reminder and the message comes back to you at the time you pick. Open the message's More actions (⋯) menu and choose Remind me, with the shortcuts and Custom inside it.

Pick one of the shortcuts: in 20 minutes, in 1 hour, in 3 hours, tomorrow and next week. Tomorrow and next week land at 9:00 in your own day and timezone. Next week means seven days out, the same weekday. With Custom you pick a date and time.

When the time comes, Swarm lands the alert in your notifications panel. It is the one alert you send yourself: the person alerting and the person alerted are the same.

The Reminders page

Open Reminders in the sidebar, under Planning, to keep track of what is coming. The page lists what you have scheduled ahead of you, soonest first. What already went off lives in the bell.

Each row carries the Reminder, with your note or the text of whatever you flagged, About, with the message's channel or the kind of thing it points at, and When. Click the row to open what it reminds you of.

Create one right there with New reminder, at the top right. Write the Note with whatever you want brought back, and pick the Date and the Time. The In 3 hours, Tomorrow and Next week shortcuts fill those two fields so you can adjust them before saving.

A reminder points at anything in Eel: a message, a task, an event, a deal. The one about a message starts from that message's menu, where Swarm already knows which one it is. The one about a task or a record in another suite app you ask for with swarm_create_reminder, in the MCP tools.

Move a reminder to another moment with Reschedule, at the end of its row: the dialog opens on the time it already had. Take it off with Cancel reminder. Search by your note or by the message's text, and sort between Soonest and Furthest out.
