Getting around

Switch app, workspace and screen without losing sight of what is waiting for you.

Learn to get around once and it carries you through all five apps: they share the same screen structure.

The app rail

The app rail: the workspace at the top, then each application with its unread counter.

Switch app from the rail on the left edge, which carries the mark and the name of every app you can open. You jump between apps and stay in the same workspace.

  • Read the red count to see which app has something unread, including the one you are in. Hover one and the latest items peek out without leaving where you are.
  • Switch workspace in the switcher at the top. Picking a workspace takes you to its home, and the address changes with you. When something is waiting in another workspace, the switcher wears a red dot on its corner. Open it and each workspace shows one dot per app with something in it, in that app's color. If you see a purple dot, check Swarm in that workspace. The dots carry no numbers and disappear once you read what was waiting.
  • Open your user menu at the foot of the rail. Just above it, go into the settings of the app you are in: Wrap and Swarm have them.

From a phone you open each app by its own address. That address carries the workspace in it. See Workspaces.

The sidebar

Move between the screens of the app you are in from the sidebar, next to the rail.

  • Go back to the app's home or into its shortcuts, notifications with its count among them.
  • Run through the grouped sections: in Nest they are Personal, Workspace and Platform.
  • Search the field in the sidebar to filter the navigation itself when you cannot remember where a screen lived.

On a phone open the sidebar from the button in the header: the drawer carries the workspace switcher and your user menu.

Leave the sidebar the way it suits you and it stays that way for you:

  • Which sections you left open.
  • Whether you prefer sections as an accordion, everything visible, or as a push stack, where you enter a section and the list is replaced. Switch with Expand full menu or Group menu into categories, in the sidebar header, and in Wrap and Swarm from the app's settings as well.

Collapse the sidebar down to icons only from the button in its header, or with Cmd+B or Ctrl+B.

The user menu

Open your user menu on your photo, at the foot of the app rail. From there:

  • Change the theme: light, dark, or follow the system.
  • Go to your profile.
  • Go to notifications.
  • Sign out.

The inbox carries a count too

In Wrap, the inbox keeps the count of conversations holding an unanswered customer message.

Read the bell to see what happened, and the inbox to see who is owed an answer.

Favourite pages

Star a page in Wrap or Zap and come back to it from its own section at the top of the sidebar.

Your favourites are yours, and they hold for one workspace.
